Prom Nights from Hell by Meg Cabot, Stephenie Meyer, Kim Harrison, Michele Jaffe, Lauren Myracle (4)

In this exciting collection, bestselling authors Meg Cabot (How to Be Popular), Kim Harrison (A Fistful of Charms), Michele Jaffe (Bad Kitty), Stephenie Meyer (Twilight), and Lauren Myracle (ttyl) take bad prom nights to a whole new level—a paranormally bad level. Wardrobe malfunctions and two left feet don't hold a candle to discovering your date is the Grim Reaper—and he isn't here to tell you how hot you look.

From angels fighting demons to a creepy take on getting what you wish for, these five stories will entertain better than any DJ in a bad tux. No corsage or limo rental necessary. Just good, scary fun.

This is an easy read with five short stories by some of the most popular young authors at the moment !!! Not only is this a fun book but also a portion of the proceeds goes to a good cause ... The First Book organization which gives families with low incomes the opportunity to own there own books ...... Which I love .....

My favourite stories in the book where The Exterminator's Daughter by Meg Cabot .... A funny story that I would have liked to have read more about !!! .......And Madison Avery and the Dim Reaper by Kim Harrison which was again funny and wished there was more !!!

This is a great wee book that you would read in an afternoon ........ And that Teens that like Fantasy will eat up .....

I rate this book 4 ****

The Host by Stephenie Meyer (41/2)

In this tantalizing SF thriller, planet-hopping parasites are inserting their silvery centipede selves into human brains, curing cancer, eliminating war and turning Earth into paradise. But some people want Earth back, warts and all, especially Melanie Stryder, who refuses to surrender, even after being captured in Chicago and becoming a host for a soul called Wanderer. Melanie uses her surviving brain cells to persuade Wanderer to help search for her loved ones in the Arizona desert. When the pair find Melanie's brother and her boyfriend in a hidden rebel cell led by her uncle, Wanderer is at first hated. Once the rebels accept Wanderer, whom they dub Wanda, Wanda's whole perspective on humanity changes. While the straightforward narrative is short on detail about the invasion and its stunning aftermath, it shines with romantic intrigue, especially when a love triangle (or quadrangle?!) develops for Wanda/Melanie.

This is Stephenie Meyer's Adult book about Aliens coming to our planet Earth and turning us into their hosts !!! .... It is a big book with over 600 pages but I have to say I loved it !!!

I did find it abit slow to start off with but then it just started to flow better !! ... I does rise some questions as to the lengths you would go to in order to save your friends and family from being HOSTs ... The relationship between Wanda and Melanie is very well done.

There is abit of violence in this book which probably is the reason for it being an Adult book but nothing too graphic ... It mostly deals with peoples emotions and how they re-act to having an Alien in their company .... If you are into Aliens and Fantasy then you are going to love this book ... And the way that it has been left there is the possibility of another book ....

There my not be any Vampires in this book but there is still Adventure, Romance and abit of Aliens thrown in for good luck ...

I rate this book 4 1/2 ****

Twilight Series (5)

I suppose I better join the bandwagon and review Twilight ... To be honest I hadn't heard about these books before 3 months ago ... We were having are usual book club meeting to discuss a the book for the month and one of the members daughter arrived half way through the discussion ... She mentioned that she was reading a brilliant book about Vampires ... ( To be honest I love the whole Fantasy angle so I was hooked )

Myself and other member the following day went and purchased the first three books as the fourth was not out for another month ....

I read Twilight in one sitting staying awake most of the night to finish it much to the frustration of my husband ... lol .... I just couldn't put it down ...

I also Read New Moon in one day and found it slow at the start of the book until about half way through and then it really started to pick up ...

I loved Eclipse and found it flowed alot better and finished it in one sitting as well ... Then came the dreadful wait of one month until Breaking Dawn was released .... I was kinda glad I only found these books as I don't think that I could have waiting longer than a month to find out what would happen ... I found the first bit abit slow again but then it picked up again ... I felt that because it was the end of the series that everything at the end of the book was squashed together to fit it all in ... I think I would have preferred to it split into two separate books that way you could really get into the characters and story ....

I have to say that Twilight is definitely my favourite by far of the whole series I was totally hooked from the first page to the last .... In general I love the whole series and would highly recommend them to anyone ... I am just looking forward to re-reading them but taking my time with them and really enjoying them ...

Love, Love, Love this whole series ....

I rate the series as 5*****
